The first round of this year’s H-1B lottery officially closed on March 29, 2022. According to the USCIS announcement, the period for filing H-1B cap-subject petitions will be at least 90-days from April 1, 2022. If you were selected for the lottery, your Brown Immigration Law team is hard at work to file your petition as soon as possible and will update you when the case has been filed.

Today, March 29, 2022, USCIS sent an email confirming the end to the first round of H-1B selections for this fiscal year’s H-1B cap. We will begin notifying all our clients of the status of all the selections today with this official word from USCIS, although it may take more than 24 hours to reach out to everyone.
About Brown Immigration
We wanted to briefly confirm that as of late Friday March 25, 2022 we started to receive selection confirmations against this fiscal year’s H-1B cap. As of this morning, we have continued to receive notifications of more selections from USCIS, which suggests to us the first round of this year’s lottery selections may not have ended. We have just started the process of notifying employees who have been selected and that will continue today and tomorrow.
Border applications are very nervous occasions for me. I’ve had my share of difficult immigration inspectors. Brown Immigration Law prepared a very professional looking submission and coached me on what to say, and what not to say. They even selected a port that was friendly to my type of application. Despite how difficult the Management Consultant application process can be, and having been denied previously, they made it a smooth and easy experience and I thoroughly enjoyed my consulting project. I’ve recommended Brown Immigration Law to countless people since.

Brown Immigration Law represented a multinational tech company I worked for based in the Bay Area for 10 years when I left the company. I found my way back to tech 2 years later and immediately recommended them when my new employer had significant problems getting results from a large international immigration law firm. They immediately won employees over with their hands on approach and they fixed all of the problem cases expertly and efficiently (as fast as they could given how slow USCIS moves!)! They even recognized a fix for one of our executives the other firm had not contemplated. We’ve been thrilled with the work and outcome Brown Immigration Law has delivered the last three years!

Brown Immigration Law was resourceful, helpful, and very professional in our first dealings. I was hired into a senior leadership position and they made the transition on the immigration side seamless. After securing my non-immigrant status they went to work on my green card. I dragged along the process, but Brown Immigration Law kept me on schedule. I chose to leave the company and I found another senior position running a small startup. As part of the agreement, I wanted Brown Immigration Law to be able to help me with future immigration needs. They ultimately filed my green card application and while it was pending the company was bought and I found yet a third employer. It was stressful to break new ground in immigration law when needing your status to work and achieve company objectives. Despite my career changes they stuck with me, always knew the most important and relevant aspects of my case, and convinced the government I was an Alien of Extraordinary Ability. I don’t think this would have been possible without Brown Immigration Law’s help. The third employer liked what they did so much, they have been immigration counsel for all employees five years running.

I approached the Green Card process with much trepidation and fear, and it was also a new thing for my management team to deal with. Brown Immigration Law held our hands throughout the process and was always available for questions and advice pre-green card and after green card. The process went very smooth and I recommend to help with future immigration issues for our staff. They have since helped our organization tremendously.

I first worked with Brown Immigration Law starting in 2012 when Brown took over for our San Francisco based immigration law firm. They immediately set our mind at ease with hiring a Midwest law firm, with their attention to our employees and excellent work. After working with Brown for four years I asked my new employer to transfer their cases soon after I arrived. They immediately found some issues that were concerns for us and helped us resolve some problems as soon as they took over. We value the work Brown Immigration Law does to keep our employees in status and focused on the task at hand, not their immigration process!
