Ryan Kelly is a Partner at Brown Immigration Law dedicated to advancing a legal practice that is both compassionate and forward-thinking, ensuring that every client receives the highest standard of representation. His commitment to excellence is evident in his meticulous handling of high-stakes cases for a large number of corporate clients and their highly skilled workers, delivering employment-based solutions across numerous nonimmigrant visa categories including H-1B, L-1, TN, O-1, E-2, E-3, H-1B, J-1, F-1, and others, as well as various paths to Permanent Residency, such as PERM Labor Certification, National Interest Waivers, EB-1 petitions for individuals with extraordinary ability, and every step in between.
Ryan is also known for his strategic problem solving, leveraging creative options like mandamus litigation to get clients the outcomes they deserve in a timely fashion. Behind the scenes, Ryan helps lead the firm’s external communications, staying abreast of the latest developments in immigration law and keeping clients and others informed via monthly newsletters, breaking news alerts, social media content, and more.
Beyond his leadership at Brown Immigration Law, Ryan actively contributes to his community. In his appointment as a Commissioner on the Lincoln Commission on Human Rights, he played a vital role in reviewing discrimination claims and ensuring equitable resolutions. He also previously worked as a legal service provider for unaccompanied minors in the Office of Refugee Resettlement’s shelter system. His dedication to public service further extends to community initiatives such as election protection, emergency legal clinics, and mentorship programs, reflecting his commitment to justice and the empowerment of underserved communities.
Ryan earned his Juris Doctor from The University of Kansas School of Law, where he distinguished himself as a member of the Law Review and participant on the mock trial team. Prior to law school, he graduated summa cum laude from Washburn University with a double major in International Business and Marketing, earning the honor of Business School Valedictorian. He also demonstrated his early leadership and argumentative skillset by winning three national debate championships for Washburn University.
Ryan has contributed to academic discourse with published articles that explore constitutional dimensions of immigration policy and innovative approaches to community partnerships. His balanced blend of rigorous legal research, practical court experience, and a passion for public service underscores his role as an influential voice in the field of immigration law.
