Cheryl A. Anderson, SHRM-CP

Chief Operating Officer

Cheryl is the Chief Operating Officer at Brown Immigration Law driving success through strategic organizational development, from cross-functional alignment and operational excellence to the creation of corporate policies and procedures to enhance and empower human capital.

Cheryl has been at the forefront of the firm’s development for more than a decade, initially joining as Director of Operations after being handpicked by Founder and Managing Partner, David Brown, to guide the firm in its early years of growth. In true startup fashion, she wore many hats, taking a hands-on approach in the execution of key initiatives including taking the firm paperless, rebranding, building out multiple office spaces, and multiplying the firm’s headcount, among many other achievements in her first few years. She quickly evolved into her role as COO, where she has been instrumental in taking Brown Immigration Law from a boutique solo practice to a thriving mid-size firm with multiple partners, more than a dozen attorneys, and a large team of professionals working cohesively to deliver top-tier immigration solutions to hundreds of corporate clients and their foreign workers.

At the heart of Cheryl’s success as a highly effective operational strategist, manager, and change leader is her people-centric, values-driven approach to organizational development. In her early days as COO, she spearheaded the creation of the firm’s Core Values as well as a new operational management structure to scale the business around those values. Cheryl has also applied her extensive leadership training to curate in-house leadership programs and other employee development initiatives in addition to providing one-on-one mentorship and professional coaching at all levels of the organization. Her unique approach to meeting business needs through the personal and professional growth of individual team members has helped the firm develop and retain top talent committed to delivering the excellent client service and overwhelming success Brown Immigration Law is known for.

Cheryl also serves on the board of the Nebraska Association of Legal Administrators (ALA), the premier professional association connecting leaders and managers in the legal industry, where she helps promote holistic operational management and forward-thinking across the broader community of Nebraska law firms.

Outside of her professional life, Cheryl loves spending time with her husband and three children. She is passionate about learning and has recently taken up golf, cooking, and driving in the United Kingdom! She is also a Nebraska enthusiast – one of her favorite pastimes is taking road trips to small towns throughout the state to explore Nebraska State Parks, historical sites, and museums; celebrating local culture; and supporting small town bakeries, stores, and coffee shops.
