On Wednesday, June 4, 2025, President Trump signed a proclamation implementing travel restrictions impacting nationals of 19 countries scheduled to take effect Monday, June 9, 2025 at 12:01 am EDT.
Under this policy, nationals from the following 12 countries are fully restricted from entry into the United States: Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen. - Immigrant and nonimmigrant visas issued to nationals of designated countries prior to June 9, 2025 will not be revoked pursuant to this proclamation and may still be used for entry into the U.S. even after these restrictions take effect.
- Restrictions do not apply to dual nationals of a designated country if traveling on a passport issued by a non-restricted country.
