Charlotte serves as Senior Counsel at Brown Immigration Law. Charlotte’s extensive background in business immigration law spans nearly three decades of serving a vast range of clients, from innovative startups to established Fortune 100 companies, across all areas of employment-based sponsorship. She prides herself on providing the highest level of service, and relishes opportunities to come up with creative and effective solutions to vexing immigration problems.
Charlotte was at the forefront of rapid developments in business immigration to support the explosive growth of the dot.com boom; she was the first attorney at Pearl Law (Now Corporate Immigration Partners), and one of the initial attorneys hired by Berry, Appleman and Leiden (Now BAL Global). Most recently, prior to joining Brown Immigration Law, she practiced as the Founder of her own boutique business immigration law firm in north Austin, TX. In addition to her roles as a practitioner and advisor, she has served as an Adjunct Professor of Immigration Law at both Golden Gate University and the University of San Francisco Schools of Law. In addition, Charlotte has held several prestigious leadership positions within the largest immigration lawyer’s organization in the U.S. – namely, the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) – including serving the dual role as the Chair of the Northern California Chapter and member of the organization’s national Board of Governors. She has also served as a liaison with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services on behalf of AILA and its members. Charlotte has been a regular speaker at AILA conferences and other immigration law symposiums, imparting her knowledge on new and experienced attorneys alike to help propel global mobility forward industry wide.
Charlotte’s unique blend of robust industry experience, academic prowess, and experience interfacing with government agencies on a regular basis adds invaluable perspective on harnessing immigration for growth and innovation for her clients, ensuring she not only provides the highest level of service, but is also able to pursue creative and effective solutions to complex immigration problems. Outside of work, Charlotte enjoys relaxing with her beloved German Shepherd, Asia. She has also traveled extensively and has never encountered a cuisine she has not liked. Additionally, Charlotte loves to attend music festivals and is always looking for opportunities to dance!
