USCIS Announces Completion of the First Round of H-1B Selections

Today, March 29, 2022, USCIS sent an email confirming the end to the first round of H-1B selections for this fiscal year’s H-1B cap. We will begin notifying all our clients of the status of all the selections today with this official word from USCIS, although it may take more than 24 hours to reach out to everyone.

Noting again that for those who receive the unfortunate news of non-selection, know that last year they pulled an additional 40,000+ registrations in July and November so there is still a possibility of acceptance in a future round. If you are not selected and wish to discuss alternative status options, please work with your HR partner to set up a time to confer with our team.

The first day to begin submitting H-1B Cap Petitions is April 1, 2022. Our teams have already begun initiating cases for those already selected with a focus on filing many cases as soon as possible. Please be sure to respond as quickly as you can with the necessary information for your H-1B filing if you have bene selected. USCIS also noted that during this season, due to the volume of petitions, receipt notices may be delayed.

As always, if you have more questions about the H-1B process, please reach out to your Brown Immigration Law attorney.

Best Regards,

The Team at Brown Immigration Law
