Tasha Afkhamnejad

Associate Attorney

Tasha is an Associate Attorney at Brown Immigration supporting companies and foreign nationals in a wide variety of nonimmigrant and immigrant processes, from temporary visas including H-1B, L-1, TN, E-3, H-1B1, J-1, F-1, E-2, and O-1, among others, as well as all aspects of the green card process.

Tasha brings a wealth of experience and passion to her work. The experience of navigating her own immigration journey prompted her to seek a career in immigration law – starting out as a receptionist many years ago and progressing to legal assistant and paralegal before attending law school. Tasha attended the University of West Los Angeles School of Law where she served as Vice Dean of the nation’s premier law fraternity, Delta Theta Phi, and was granted a PTLS certification allowing her to advocate for immigrants as a provisionally licensed lawyer while pursuing her Juris Doctor. She has continued that advocacy throughout her career as an attorney working across multiple areas of immigration law, from litigation and humanitarian to family- and employment-based immigration.

Before transitioning her practice to focus solely on business immigration, Tasha gained over a decade of experience supporting a variety of immigration matters before EOIR, DOS, BIA, and USCIS, including asylum, removal proceedings, adjustment of status, naturalization, and other forms of relief for victims of human trafficking, criminal activity, and violence (T/U visas, VAWA). Tasha’s vast experience managing cases, clients, and teams across multiple areas of immigration law has provided her with an in-depth understanding of the U.S. immigration system and a unique capacity for delivering strategic and efficient solutions for corporate clients and foreign workers.

Outside of work, Tasha indulges in road trips across the United States, collecting Starbucks mugs from each state she visits. With at least 38 states checked off so far, each mug tells a story of adventure and reflects on her love of exploration.
